Please note: charging power is 65 W, which may not be enough for powerful workstations (ZBook 15/17, computers with H-series processors). For those models, choose our USB-C Dock G5 (100 W) or the Thunderbolt Dock 230W G2.

Dock G4 vs G5 — what is the difference?

The The Dock G4 is the generation before the G5. The main differences:

• Charging power: 65 W (G4) versus 100 W (G5)
• DisplayPort: version 1.2 (G4) versus 1.4 (G5)
• USB-A: USB 3.0 (G4) versus USB 3.1 (G5)
• No HDMI and no secondary USB-C port (both present on the G5)

The G4 remains an excellent solution for everyday office use at a particularly attractive price.
